Affirmation in lieu of an oath
When an enforcement conducted by a bailiff was without success, a debtor can be obliged to give an affirmation in lieu of an oath. Therefore he has to give detailed information about his financial situation. He gives an affirmation in lieu of an oath. Wrong quotations in the inventory of property may lead to a penalty of imprisonment up to three years. In case the debtor ignores the summons, the creditor can claim imprisonment.
