ZPO – Zivilprozessordnung – code of civil procedure

The law of civil procedure is mainly stipulated in the code of civil procedure of 30th January 1877 in the original version of the notice dated 12th September 1950 plus numerous amendments. The code of civil procedure belongs together with the judiciary act and the code of criminal procedure to the so-called Reich justice law. In the procedural law domain this justice law did already establish the law unity in the third empire 20 years before the passage into law of the German Civil Code.
