Counterfeiting is booming in Germany

In the course of the past year more counterfeit branded goods were seized at the custom office of Frankfurt airport as 2006.

While last year 2100 branded items were confiscated, the number of plagiary goods increased to more than 2800.

Among these were primarily counterfeit portable telephones, Mp4 players, and various counterfeit luxury watches as well as textile goods.

The estimated value of the seized goods exceeded 51 millions euro, whereby the German economy was saved from an immense financial damage.
